DESCRIPTION:Following the success of our first Velodrome session\, we’re promoting a second Team De Ver track day on Saturday 23 March from 1.30pm – 3pm. \nPlease note this is an open public session run by Herne Hill Velodrome so we will likely be riding with non-club members too. Your friends and relatives are of course welcome to join you either on or off the track! \nThis session will be ridden on track bikes\, which are provided by the velodrome (there is no extra cost). The session is designed specifically for beginners\, you do not need any previous experience on the track. You will be taught how to ride a track bike safely by qualified instructors. \nTo get an idea of what’s in store check out Martin’s account of our first session in September 2023 \nHerne Hill Velodrome was where Maurice Burton started as a young rider. Now is your chance to follow his wheel! In January 2023 De Ver Cycles donated 80+ track frames to the velodrome\, in the iconic yellow+black colour scheme. You may be lucky enough to ride one of those 💛🖤🤍 \nCost: Adult £20 / Youth 14-17 £5 \nPlease book early to reserve your place\, by registering on RiderHQ. Entries close at 1:00 PM on the day. \n\n\nThe following details are from the event entry page on RiderHQ – \nOur Track Taster Sessions are the first step on our cycling pathway\, and are essential to attend before participating in any other track cycling sessions. The Taster will teach you the basic principles of track riding\, and be a fun introduction to the sport. \n\nYou must complete a taster before riding any other session at HHV\nThis induction lasts 1.5 hours. Free bike/helmet hire included.\nLycra is not required\, although we recommend that you don’t wear anything too baggy – layers are recommended\, as well as a warm jacket for after. Remember to bring water and a snack.\nGloves must be worn\nPlease arrive 15 minutes before the session start time to complete the sign on process\, to ensure that the session can start promptly\nPlease note that it is not possible for latecomers to join in.\n\nYou will receive an email ahead of your Taster session\, outlining everything you need to know. SUMMARY:Team De Ver Xmas Ride / Dinner 2023
DESCRIPTION:Our 2023 Xmas Ride will take place on Sunday 10 December with a three-course festive meal at The Aperfield Inn in Biggin Hill\, Westerham. \nWe shall meet outside the De Ver Cycles shop at 10:00 to leave at 10:15 and ride together at an easy social pace to arrive around 11:30 and have dinner at 12:00. All members are welcome! \n \nIf you would like to join us\, please book your place on Rider HQ\, we need your menu selections and a £5 deposit. \nBookings will close at midnight on Wednesday 29th November. \nCost: £28.95 for 2 courses or £31.95 for 3 courses\, payable after the meal (minus your deposit). The Menu can also be found on The Aperfield Inn website. \n\nThis event is only open to team members so please use the SIGN IN button when placing your order in Rider HQ. \n \nThe route is 16 miles out and 14 miles back. DESCRIPTION:Our London to Whitstable Ride will take place on Sunday 3rd September. This is a pictureque ride east to a traditional seaside town\, with club members from all A\,B\,C groups coming together and riding at a social pace. All club members and close friends are welcome! \nWe shall ride a country lane route to Whitstable via “Teapot Island” and Kingwood\, approx 70 miles. \nAt Whitstable we we’ll stop for refreshments – fish and chips always taste best by the sea! \nFrom Whitstable you have the option of catching the train back (Bromley South\, Victoria or Stratford\, St Pancras) or riding back a different route via Hollingbourne and Snodland\, taking the total up to 137 miles with over 6000ft of climbing. \nMeet outside the shop at 7:30am. SUMMARY:Team De Ver Eridge to Redhill ride (Hybrid\, Mountain Bike\, Gravel Bike)
DESCRIPTION:POSTPONED – Due to unforseen circumstances this event has been postponed. A new date will be announced shortly. If you have already registered for this event we will try to roll over your registration. \nAt the recent Futurespective meeting there was a suggestion for different types of cycle events. \nOn Saturday 12 August there’s an off-road ride from Eridge via East Grinstead\, Three Bridges to Redhill on cycles routes; Forest Way\, Worth Way and NC21 with a stop for a coffee/cake en-route. \nThe ride will be for anyone with a hybrid bike (with suitable tyres)\, mountain bike or gravel bike. We will aim to have a maximum of 6 riders and as most of the route follows disused railway lines it’s mainly flat. \nWe’ll get the train from East Croydon to Eridge\, cycle the 32 miles and then make a decision at Redhill whether to continue or get a train back from there. \n\nEvent details: \nMeet at East Croydon station at 08.45 to buy tickets and get the 09.10\, arriving Eridge 10.05\, group ticket £8 each. At Redhill\, if we decide to get train back\, a group ticket is £4 each.\nThe weather forecast looks OK at the moment but if the forecast deteriorates a decision whether to go ahead will be made at 6pm Friday. \nThis ride is being organised by Carsten and is open to all members of Team De Ver. DESCRIPTION:Our London to Brighton Ride will take place on Sunday 23rd July. This has always been a very popular ride with club members from all A\,B\,C groups coming together and riding at a social pace. All club members and close friends are welcome! \nWe shall ride a country lane route to Brighton including the climb up Ditchling Beacon\, approx 54 miles. This is different to the BHF London to Brighton Charity Ride route. \nAt Brighton we’ll stop for lunch together at The Regency Restaurant\, Regency Square. \nFrom Brighton you have the option of catching the train back (East Croydon or Clapham Junction) or riding back a different route via Devil’s Dyke and Box Hill\, taking the distance up to 109 miles with over 6000ft of climbing. \nMeet outside the shop at 8:00am. Any last minute details regarding weather etc will be posted on the WhatsApp group. \nCost: There is no cost to enter\, just be prepared to pay for lunch and train home. \nPlease sign up via Rider HQ and select the group of your riding ability\, so we know to expect you.
