Spring Onion 2027

The Spring Onion weaves its way south from Cobham in Surrey, to Rudgewick and Wisborough Green, then back north through Plaistow and Dunsfold (home of the Top Gear test track). The route finishes with a timed KOM up Coombe Lane and speedy roll back to Cobham.

Entry includes feed station at The Cricketers Arms Pub Wisborough Green plus meal and cake at the finish. There are prizes of Moda bike frames for men and women, awarded to the 50th male and 10th female.

Now in its 18th year, the event is organised by European Cycle Events who organise travel to major events and also tailor-made trips.

Entry via the European Cycle Events website opens soon with an early-bird price of £39.95.

There will be a small number of places on the day due to cancellations, check their website for details.

Start/Finish

HQ is Cobham Village Hall.

Nearest train station is Cobham & Stoke D’Abernon which can be reached from Clapham Junction. The first trains from CJ on Sundays appear to be 7:06 arr 7:46 (change at Surbiton), or 7:49 arr 8:46 (change at Wimbledon).

Doors open 7:30, Event starts at 8:30. Numbers MUST be collected by 09:00 am

Ride closes at 16:00

Route

The route is just over 65 miles with 4,000 ft ascent.
