The 2025 edition of Etape du Tour will take place on Sunday 20 July 2025. The route will be the same as a stage 19 of the Tour de France, the pro teams will follow five days later.

Starting in Albertville the route features five climbs – Côte d’Héry-sur-Ugine, the Col des Saisies, the Col du Pré, the Cormet de Roselend and the spectacular finish at La Plagne. Total distance is 131 km with 4,500 m of elevation.

General Entry Registration opens on Wednesday 6 November at 4pm with standard entry at 159 Euros. Standard entry will sell out quickly, after which there will be higher-price package options still available with hotels and travel agencies – see How to Register on the Etape website for more details.

Priority entry opened to some groups on Thursday 31 October at 2pm, for example if you are a previous participant in the Dragon Ride or a member of the Tour De France Club – details will be sent by email and offers will be available for a few days until general registration opens.

Accommodation will get booked-up very quickly. If you are planning on entering you are strongly advised to book a hotel or Airbnb immediately, if you’re lucky you may be able to find somewhere with free cancellation. It’s best to build-in a few days around the event, eg arrive on Wed/Thu and leave on Mon/Tue so you can explore the area or maybe watch a stage nearby.

Travel to the start town Albertville by train fom via Paris/Chambery, fly to Chambery or Geneva for train/car transfer, or a long drive from London.

Shuttle bus services are available to book when you register, make sure to select one of these if you need it, eg to drop a car off at the finish line the day before the race, or for you and your bike after the race.
