The Surrey Rumble is a timed sportive on Sunday 22nd March 2026 organised by Twickenham CC. Two distances 80 miles (125km) and 60 miles (95km) starting in Cobham riding south via Ewhurst towards Billingshurst and returning via Dunsfold and Puttenham.

Checkpoint & refreshment points are at Fishers Farm and Tongham Community Centre (Long route: miles 29 and 57. Short route: mile 38)

First rider: 07:30

Event close: 15:00

The last rider has five hours to complete their chosen route – 12mph / 19kmph for the short route or 16mph / 25 kmph for the long route

Entry is only £22* and it looks like a good friendly event which is staffed by club members and popular with locals, with around 200 riders each year. (*£30 on the day if any places remain)

Registration is open now via the British Cycling website, entries close on 17 March.

Start/Finish location is at Downside Village Hall.

Nearest train stations are Cobham & Stoke D’Abernon or Effingham Junction which can be reached from Clapham Junction (change at Surbiton). The first trains on Sundays appear to be 7:06 arr 7:46 (change at Surbiton), or 7:57 arr 8:46 (change at Surbiton).

Please note there is no parking at the Village Hall. The event website recommends using Holly Hedge Car Park at KT11 3DQ (£7.90 charge), or Cobham & Stoke D’Abernon station (£3.70).
